PREVIEW Oxford United v Peterborough United

Oxford United take on Peterborough United at home for the second time in four days when the sides meet again in the Carabao Cup tonight (7.45pm)

Team News
United won the league game on Saturday 1-0 thanks to Cameron Brannagan's fine goal, but boss Karl Robinson hinted that he may make changes for the cup which could mean opportunities for Elliott Moore and Anthony Forde to make their debuts or for Jamie Hanson to step up after impressing as a sub on Saturday

"I thought Jamie was exceptional" Karl Robinson told iFollow. "He has been really impressive ever since we reported back this summer and he is pushing very hard for a starting place."

Shandon Baptiste could return on the bench where new signing Dan Agyei could be involved for the first time.

The Opposition
Darren Ferguson will also make changes to his side tonight, saying "I would have freshened the team up for this game even if we’d won the first two games.”

“There will be changes, but we will still be fielding a strong side as we want a good cup run. Winning cup matches can have a positive effect on league form.

“What I do want to see is higher levels of energy from the first whistle. We’ve delivered two first-half performances so far that have been way short of the level required. We need to start the game tomorrow the way we started the second-half on Saturday. We want to play on the front foot, to get crosses in and to get shots away. That’s what we should be about."

The Tie
Tonight's match goes straight to penalties if it’s level after 90 minutes. The draw for round two will take place immediately after, at the conclusion of the tie between Salford City and Leeds United. United or Peterborough will be ball number 13.

Match Day
The RES gate behind the North Stand will not be in operation for this game meaning fans can move from one end of the ground to the other behind that stand after the game.
