PREVIEW Oxford United v Peterborough United

Oxford United welcome Peterborough United to the Kassam Stadium in Sky Bet League 1 on Saturday as they try to get their home campaign off to a winning start

Team News
United have a full bill of health with Shandon Baptiste back in training and Anthony Forde coming through 45 minutes in a friendly in midweek; the Irish winger is fit but being eased into things having not had a full pre-season and could feature on the bench for the first time.

After an excellent performance at Sunderland there are unlikely to be too many changes to the side and John Mousinho stands by to make the 500th senior appearance of his long and distinguished career.

The Opposition
Darren Ferguson has had a busy summer with nine arrivals including forward George Boyd, while the club is reported to have turned down a £4m bid from Sunderland for Ivan Toney yesterday.

“There seems to be a bit of a buzz around the place at the moment" Ferguson said. "As a manager you’ve got to manage expectations and fans expectations but we’ve been very strong in our recruitment so far. We’ve signed nine players now, a lot of which have been stand out signings that are getting people excited.

“Obviously last season we just missed out on the Play-Offs, but the recruitment we’ve done this summer has been done very quickly, we’ve got players in and we’re all happy with things so far.”
