Oxford United are delighted to announce that Head Coach Karl Robinson has today completed the paperwork on a new three year contract with the club.
Karl joined the U’s from Charlton Athletic in March 2018, having previously been in charge of MK Dons. Still only 38 Karl will pass the 500 games as a Manager mark this season and told us how excited he is to have committed his future to the club:
“I couldn’t be happier to sign” he told us. “I have loved my time in Oxford and want to thank the Board and Chairman for their help and support. Fans saw the way we ended last season and the way we want to keep building on the pitch but you look around at the training ground, the Academy, the whole club and we are starting to put a great infrastructure into place. Obviously we have come through some tough times together over the last 18 months but we now know that when those problems come along we face them together.
“There is a terrific amount of hard work going on at all levels and I want to be part of that. I also want to thank the fans who have been magnificent, home and away. We know they will be there to support us when we kick off against Peterborough today and then throughout what we hope will be a really exciting season.”
Chairman Sumrith 'Tiger' Thanakarnjanasuth said
“Karl has such warmth and enthusiasm and we are very happy to be working with him for a longer period. He works extremely hard, not just on the training ground but always trying to improve everything for the benefit of the club. He now has a little bit of long-term security for his family and we will be right behind him to give him all the support we can to build a successful side.”
