Monday night saw over sixty coaches from across the region coming together for a Coach Development Masterclass hosted by Oxford United.
Representatives from local boys and girls teams; the OUFC community scheme; the Women's programme and the Boys Academy spent two hours sharing best practice as the club continued to strengthen relationships across the region.
The evening saw ex-Oxford players turned coaches Darren Purse, Chris Allen and Chris Hackett deliver practical sessions based around "the fine detail of defending" and "attacking in wide areas" whilst Academy Manager Dan Harris delivered on the club's values, culture and standards.
After the event Dan told us:
"Tonight has been great opportunity to see coaches from across the region working alongside our Academy coaches. As a club we're committed to resourcing and supporting the football landscape across Oxfordshire and so having representatives from Blackbird Leys FC, Bure Park, Oxford City, OFD and numerous other clubs has been fantastic - I'd like to thank everyone for their input and we look forward to continuing to work with clubs all across our county over the coming months."
Anyone from local clubs who would like to be involved in future events of this kind is welcome to email Jonny Edmunds on jedmunds@oufc.co.uk to ensure they secure their place.
