Women Draw At Cardiff

Oxford United Women picked up an important National League point at Cardiff City at the weekend with a Georgia Timms goal earning them a 1-1 draw.

United recovered well after Cardiff scored the opening goal in just the second minute, with both sides creating chances in and even first half.

Timms then struck in the 70th minute to level and Manager Liam Gilbert told us

“It was a game where we had to show some character after going behind to a very early goal. The players didn’t lose their heads which can often happen in these situations. We battled hard and deserved our equaliser and on another day we could have brought all three points back across the border with us.”

The women are back in action this Sunday when they host Plymouth Argyle at Court Place Farm.
