Oxford United will once again be saluting the work of the Armed Forces this weekend when our home game against Gillingham will be our annual Military Day.
The U’s, who visited St George’s Barracks in Bicester last week and laid a wreath there to remember those who fell in the Great War one hundred years ago, will have a very special day on Saturday where all branches of the Armed Forces will be at Grenoble Road before the game.
Fans can meet serving personnel from the Army, RAF and Navy and there are displays and demonstrations all around the ground including bomb disposal robots, tanks and other vehicles. The matchball will be delivered to the referee by Chelsea pensioners after a fly-by shortly before kick off- wait till you see what we have in store for that…
The 7 Rifles band will be entertaining the crowds and there will be a collection by SSAFA - the Armed Forces charity; please give generously.
It all adds up to a fantastic day as we take on the Gills. Book your place today by visiting oufctickets.co.uk or by calling 01865 337533
