Making Strides

Oxford United’s Walking Football team continues to grow and enjoy success, and last Sunday saw the Oxford United Warriors win the Summertown Stars Walking Football Tournament.

The U’s took on the Cherwell  Strollers in a closely fought final. The result was 0-0 after normal time then the Warriors won 2-1 on penalties.

Having enjoyed that victory Oxford United play in Oxfordshire FA’ s first over 55’s Walking Football tournament in Witney this Sunday, fresh from another training session with guest coach, and Manor Legend, Les Robinson.

The club also launched a new Slower Walking Football team last Saturday, similar to Walking Football; but with no physical contact.

Ten new players turned up to give it a go and there were plenty of smiles all round. It’s a great way to play football, keep fit and meet people for that ‘team’ feeling, so why not come along to this Saturday’s session. 11.00 am to 12.00pm. (Arrive at 10.30am).

The cost will be £3/£4 and the session is in the Dome, Oxford Academy, Sandy Lane West, Oxford.
