Oxford United are delighted to confirm the appointment of Amy Cranston as the club’s new First Team Physiotherapist.
Amy, 28, is originally from Oxford and has been with the club for the last six years, working first with the Women’s team and Academy players before stepping up to work first with the youth team and then the first team. Following the departure of Andrew Proctor this summer she has been working with the first team throughout pre-season and Manager Karl Robinson has been hugely impressed
“Amy fully deserves her chance and has the total respect of the staff, the players and everyone around the first team” he said. “She has all the relevant qualifications and also has plenty of experience now. We often talk about the pathway for players at the club but it’s also important to have continuity behind the scenes and Amy has worked her way up to get this chance, one which I am convinced she will make the most of.”
Amy said
“I would like to thank Karl and Tiger for the fantastic chance I have been given. I’d also like to thank Andrew Proctor for his guidance over the last few years and all the staff and players for making me feel so welcome.
"It has made the step up so much easier and I’ve really enjoyed the last few weeks. I think we have made huge strides in the medical department over the last few seasons and I can’t wait to be part of the team and hopefully keep that improvement going.”
