The Rotherham View

Rotherham, fourth in the table, suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday and boss Paul Warne warned his players that he may shake things up for the trip to Oxford.

“There's a lot of travelling involved. The problem is that when you're winning games it's difficult to pull people out and put people in,” he told www.themillers.co.uk. "I understand that when you've had three clean sheets you don't want to make changes but they're my decisions that I've got to make and they're not easy.

“We have to take everything into account to putting 11 lads out there who I think are going to win a football match.”

The Millers could be boosted by the returns of midfield duo Lee Frecklington and Jon Taylor for the match against the U’s but Warne admits they will be closely monitored in training prior to travel.

“Frecks and Taylor are both options for me, so that's good news and Potter is coming back as well,” he explained.

“In that respect, I'm in a better position than I was on Tuesday night and I've got more options in the middle of the pitch which we need. The energy we play with means that we're asking a lot of our lads in there to play 90 minutes flat out.

“I think Frecks will be fine, but he might be a little rusty. Tayls has had a little bit more time off so I think he will need a bit more training.

“We know where the parameters of their physicality is, so we know when they train how far they're off it with everything we have, so we'll have a good look at them over the next couple of days.”
