Canice Carroll Nominated for Award

U's defender nominated for Ireland Under-17 International Player of the Year

Young Oxford United defender Canice Carroll has been nominated for Ireland's Under-17 International Player of the Year.

Canice, who turned professional in August 2015 and who made his United debut earlier this season, graduated through the Oxford United academy and has been capped for Ireland at under-17, under-18 and under-19 levels.

The awards ceremony to be hosted on Sunday, 19 March - live on RTE2.

Canice told us: "I'm thrilled to be nominated for this award and I'd like to thank everyone at the club, from the academy and youth team to the first team management. It's a great honour to be nominated."
