Women Face Lionesses on Sunday

Women set for Continental Cup tie this weekend

Oxford United Women welcome Millwall Lionesses to Northcourt Road this Sunday (2pm) as they switch their attention to the Continental Cup.

Les Taylor's side won their first WSL2 game of the season with a 1-0 win against Sheffield last Sunday and now take on Millwall for the second time this season

The two sides met on the opening day of the season with the Lionesses winning a thrilling game 5-3.

"We are up and running after that  first win" Les told us. "We had been playing well enough but not getting the results we deserved, and last Sunday against Sheffield we  turned a decent performance into three league points. I thought we were full value for that win and it was great to see the smiles on the girls’ faces.

"The Continental Cup has a slightly different format this season. It is straight knockout football and that adds a different dimension to the game. I always relished a cup tie and I’m sure the players on both sides will be looking forward to Sunday."

Kick off is at 2pm and admission is just £5 for adults and £10 for a Family Ticket (2 Adults & 2 Under 16s)
