Annual End of Season Awards Night is a roaring success
Oxford United were last night presented with the Runners-Up Trophy for League 2 to cap a fantastic night at the annual end-of-season awards.
The trophy and medals for the players were presented at the end of a memorable night at the Kassam Stadium that saw the honours shared among the players who have worked so hard over all season.
Danny Hytlon was the winner of the Andrew Knapton Supporters' Player of the Year trophy, while Kemar Roofe and Liam Sercombe shared the Players' Player of the Year award. Kemar also won the Golden Boot award plus Goal of the Season for his spectacular strike at Brentford.
The Jack Casley Young Player of the Year went to centre-half Robbie Cundy, while the Community Contribution award was presented to Women’s captain Kat Nutman, whose teammate Ella Franklin-Fraiture was named as WSL Emerging Talent.
One of the highlights of the evening was an emotional Angie Spackman being presented with the Unsung Hero after 30 years of guiding mascots and youngsters around behind the scenes on a matchday, while Video Analyst Dan Bond and Cheryl Cooper, Darry Eales’ PA, shared the Club Person award.
