U's Set for First Game in Spain

United prepare for tonight's first tour game

Oxford United play the first of their two games in Spain this evening.

United take on Spanish fourth division side Alhaurin de la Torre on Tuesday at 7.30pm local time (6.30pm in the UK). The game takes place at Estadio Municipal Football Los Manantiales,(GPS: 36.661905, -4.552119)

Of the players in Spain only Liam Sercombe is unlikely to be involved after rolling an ankle in training and missing this morning's training session. Michael Appleton told us

"Sercs will probably sit this one out but it's not too serious and he will hopefully be involved in Friday's second game. We will probably look to give some players an hour in this one and thirty minutes in the other, with the other players doing the reverse. It looks like we are going to have fantastic support out here and it's an evening we're all looking forward to.

Full commentary will be available in Yellow Player. Entry at the stadium is 5 Euros, with under 16s free.

For those in Spain:

Alhaurin's stadium is roughly 20 minutes from Benalmadena, and there will be OUFC coaches available at a cost of 10euros per person for 1 return journey. Wristbands will be issued to travelling supporters, and supporters will only be admitted back onto the bus if their wristband is still intact. Please ensure you have the right money to pay for your travel.

The coach company have asked us to inform supporters that no eating, drinking or smoking is allowed on board - the journeys are relatively short, and there are bars available at both game locations, so please refrain from bringing alcohol on board.

Please arrive at the pick up point at least 15 minutes before the above departure times. The coaches are numbered - please ensure you return on the same coach you left on.

NO FURTHER COACH BOOKINGS ARE BEING TAKEN FOR TONIGHT’S GAME.

Contact Sarah Gooding (sgooding@oufc.co.uk) with any transport questions.
