Remember to Bring Your Flags on Saturday

It's flag day with United as Peterborough come to town

This Saturday is officially Flag Day at Oxford United.

Twenty years ago the U’s sealed promotion from their current division thanks to a 4-0 win over Peterborough United at the Manor Ground.

The iconic moment at that game was striker David Rush scoring the first goal and celebrating by waving the corner flag in delight; a goal celebration copied by Chris Maguire this year as the U’s once again won promotion.

As the U’s once again take on the Posh we are asking fans to bring along as many flags and banners as possible to create a fantastic spectacle as the players come out of the tunnel.

Even better: fans can take advantage of a great deal offering a match programme plus a large yellow and blue flag for just £5.

There will also be an ‘honesty bucket’ for flags in some areas of the ground. Borrow one before the game, fly the flag for the U's during the game, then simply return it to the bucket after the game for fans to use at the next match.

Got a flag from the past? Tell us about it on social media on twitter at @OUFCOfficial.

Most important; come along and wave the U’s on. Tickets are available from 01865 337533 and online 24/7 at www.oufctickets.co.uk
