Great opportunities for youngsters with the U's
The deadline is approaching for 10 new coaching apprenticeships with Oxford United in partnership with Abingdon and Witney College. This is a major strand of the Oxford United Community Trust’s new strategy ‘Dreaming Together, Achieving Together’ which lays out how the Community Trust will support everyone from across Oxfordshire to achieve their dreams through four key themes; Sports Participation and Coaching; Health and Wellbeing; Social Inclusion and Education, Training and Employment.
The main responsibilities of the apprentice position will include assisting with the planning, delivering and monitoring of coordinated programmes as well as providing quality coaching and instruction. The apprentice will be responsible for general communications with the Co-ordinator or Officer in charge of the programme and the Sports Participation Manager. They will also assist with other duties such as maintaining a well-supplied medical bag for all for all Trust sessions and monitoring and evaluation sessions.
Oxford United are looking for individuals who can display a positive and proactive attitude, have excellent customer service skills and are committed to delivering the highest standards in line with the Oxford United DNA which guides how we play, coach and work.
The Trust believes the programme of training that they have worked in partnership to create for the future apprenticeships is second to none, with not only the qualification from the college, but also FA coaching courses and FA Youth Modules provided by the Oxfordshire FA, Mental Health First Aid, Safeguarding, First Aid and Data Protection training. This package will ensure that anyone on this programme, who gives it their full commitment, is able to find and secure coaching employment once they have completed the course.
