A young United side hold a full-strength Oxford City team at Court Place Farm on Saturday
A young Oxford United side, comprising mostly under-18 players, held a full-strength Oxford City to a 1-1 draw on the 3G pitch at Court Place Farm on Saturday afternoon, thanks to Graham Bryan's second-half equaliser.City started the match on the front foot and goalkeeper Manny Agboola was forced into a couple of decent saves. At right back, Aidan Hawtin was the senior player of the squad and he was very good with the younger players, talking to them and instructing them throughout. Other professionals playing were Freddie Grant at left back, Robbie Cundy in the centre of defence, Sam Humphreys behind the striker and AJ George in central midfield.
The hosts took the lead in the second half through a penalty but United equalised when a Jordan Graham cross was headed home by Bryan. The final 20 minutes saw United pushing forward looking for the winner and keeping City penned largely in their own half.
