Women return to action after mid-season break
Oxford United Women are back in action this weekend as they travel to London Bees in WSL2
Les Taylor’s side have had a six week break during which the England Lionesses have captured the imagination of the whole nation and put the Women’s game on all of the back pages. The U’s now get back to action themselves after a mini pre-season.
“The players have worked really hard during this break” Les told us. “Obviously they had a chance to recharge the batteries at first after a very encouraging first half of the season. But for the last three weeks we have been doing a lot of strength and conditioning work which we believe will pay off in the second half of the season.
“Everyone is fit, and training this week has been very sharp so we can’t wait to get back to playing again.”
The Women are in action against the London Bees this Sunday at the Hive, Barnet, kick off at 2pm.
They then return to Northcourt Road the following Sunday for a mouth-watering game against Doncaster Belles who are currently joint top of WSL2. Come and join us for that one at Abingdon United, on Sunday 19th June (2pm kick off)
