PREVIEW Oxford United v. Coventry City

United's final pre-season friendly is at Nuneaton Town on Saturday

Oxford United conclude their pre-season campaign with a game against Coventry City at Nuneaton Town's James Parnell Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

Michael Appleton has said that there will be no surprises in his starting line-up as the U's look to continue the fine form that saw them beat Conference promotion hopefuls Eastleigh 2-0 last Saturday. This means that Danny Rose is likely to keep his place in the centre of midfield while Danny Hylton and Ryan Taylor will probably continue to shape their partnership up front.

"I know Tony Mowbray from when we were together at West Brom," Appleton said. "I know the way he likes his teams to play and I suspect that they will have a lot of possession."

United will be wearing their brand-new away kit for the first time at Nuneaton. There will be full commentary and reaction in Yellow Player.

Those who don't feature on Saturday are likely to be involved when United visit Reading on Tuesday for a behind-closed-doors game.

The opposition
There is one familiar face in the Coventry squad after Sam Ricketts joined the Sky Blues in July after he was released by Wolves. Sam started his career with the U's and has since played for Telford, Swansea, Hull and Bolton. In their last pre-season game, Coventry lost 1-0 to Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium.

Coventry have announced that the majority of their under-21 players haven't been handed a squad number yet but will be required to earn one over the course of the season.
