Newey leaves the U's by mutual consent
Defender Tom Newey’s time at Oxford United has come to an end with the left-back today leaving the club by mutual consent. The 32-year-old joined United in the summer of 2013 having had spells at Cambridge United, Grimsby Town, Bury, Rotherham United and Scunthorpe United among others during his career. Tom has found first team games hard to come by this season and spent time on loan at Northampton Town shortly before Christmas.
In total he made 62 appearances for the U’s scoring one goal.
We thank Tom for his efforts and wish him well for the future.
