First team away but Under 18s and Women have home games this weekend
If you are not travelling to Southend tomorrow afternoon there is still the chance to watch an Oxford United game with the under 18s at home to Newport County in the morning. The game takes place at the training ground, the Oxford Sport and Social Club, with kick off at 11am, and admission is free.
Chris Allen’s side of youngsters is settling down nicely as Chris told us:
“It takes a little time for players to adjust to full time football every day but they are a good group this year and eager to learn and improve.
“We have played well in parts of every game so far and there are plenty of positives. The lads have trained well this week and we’re looking forward to Saturday’s game.”
Meanwhile the Oxford United Women look to build on a fine performance at London Bees last night when they welcome Millwall Lionesses to Abingdon United on Sunday afternoon (2pm)
Les Taylor’s side were only denied a win by a 90th minute equaliser last night and Les told us:
“We played ever so well and it was very harsh on the girls not to get a win. There’s no time to feel sorry for ourselves though because we have Millwall on Sunday and we have to be ready to give it everything again.”
Entry is just £5 adults, £2 for under 16s and over 65s with the game at Northcourt Road, Abingdon, OX14 1PL
