Metatarsal injury ends Johnny Mullins' campaign
Defender Johnny Mullins’ season has come to a premature end, following his recent injury. The 28-year-old will be out for a minimum of six weeks with a metatarsal injury sustained after kicking the advertising hoardings during the recent defeat to Chesterfield.
Scans have revealed damage to the second metatarsal and Mullins has been advised to rest up in order to aid his recovery, ruling him out of United’s end-of-season run-in.
Manager Gary Waddock said: “I’m disappointed for him and I’m disappointed for us as well because he’s an important player for us and we’re going to miss him.”
Mullins said: “I’m gutted not to be able to play a part in the last few games. The lads are in a great position and I’d love to be involved. I’ll still be around the club doing what I can and I’m confident that the lads will kick on and get us to where we need to be.”
