Tom Newey ruled out as Oxford United visit Morecambe in Sky Bet League 2
United will be forced into a reshuffle as they head for Morecambe on Saturday in Sky Bet League 2.
Left back Tom Newey picked up his tenth yellow card of the season during the game at Newport on Tuesday evening and misses out.
“Tom has been one of our most consistent players so it’s a shame” said Mickey Lewis in his pre-match interview in Yellow Player. “We just get on with things though: we have a squad to cope with situations like this and good players who can come into the side.”
David Lynn , a scorer in the Development Squad’s 3-2 win at Wimbledon this week stands by for a recall but United will once again be without defenders Michael Raynes and Jake Wright. Both are now doing some light running but are unlikely to be available again until the trip to Rochdale the following Saturday.
Jon Meades, a regular left-back for Wimbledon last season, is now just a couple of weeks away from full training while Andy Whing is not far behind him.
Physio Andy Lord brings us an update from the treatment room in this week’s Preview Show in Yellow Player where we also have interviews with David Hunt and James Constable.
