United's first home friendly v Birmingham on Saturday
Oxford United remain unbeaten in pre-season so far, but they will face a tough challenge on Saturday when Championship side Birmingham City visit the Kassam for United's first home friendly of the summer (kick-off 3pm).Birmingham, under Lee Clark's management, finished 12th in the Championship last season, but will be looking to challenge for promotion back to the Premiership this time around. They have the strike power of Nicola Zigic, Peter Lovenkrands and Marlon King, supplied by Hayden Mullins and Darren Ambrose in midfield. In addition, former United striker Matt Green has recently put pen to paper to join the Blues and he will doubtless be looking forward to a return to the Kassam Stadium.
For United, this will be supporters' first opportunity to see new signings David Kitson, Jon Meades, David Hunt and Tom Newey, and to reacquaint themselves with Asa Hall and Danny Rose. In addition, United will be wearing their new kit for the first time at home.
Advance tickets cost just £10 for adults, £8 for students, £5 for over-65s and £4 for under-16s in all stands (add £2 for the matchday prices) and with glorious weather forecast there's no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than cheering on the Yellows.
