Defender eyes Senior Cup return
United could be boosted by the return of Andy Whing this week.
The former Coventry defender has endured an injury-hit season but is well on the way to a return after his latest ankle injury. The versatile Whing is stepping up his recovery and joined in training today, with one eye on a return in the Oxfordshire Senior cup game against Chinnor on Wednesday evening.
Manager Chris Wilder is delighted with the progress being made:
“Whingy is making fantastic progress” he told Yellow Player. “We have always said that we need everybody.
"Andy might be close to playing or being involved again with the first team in the next couple of weeks. You saw when he had his first injury that he was back quicker than everybody expected and then all of a sudden he was there coming off the bench at Cheltenham. It is a great boost to have him amongst us again.”
Max Crocombe, Harry Worley and Josh Parker are all likely to get game time on Wednesday night as United face Chinnor at Thame United's ASM Stadium. Kick off is 7.30pm.
