Oxford United Women’s go on the hunt for three points as they face Watford Ladies in the Women’s National League (South) on Sunday.
Liam Gilbert’s side are on a fantastic run of form having not lost in the league since October, but since their last game against Gillingham have faced a 3 week break from competitive action.
The match, itself a re-arrangement after being postponed earlier in the month, has now been moved to the home of Middlesex FA to ensure that the game goes ahead and United will be keen to look to make a statement against one of their closest rivals in the league.
Watford sit just one place behind United in the table and the two are separated only by goal difference (although the U’s do have a game in hand) and both sides will have their sights set on climbing the table in what is sure to be a tightly contested final third of the season.
The two sides last faced each other back in September when a late goal from Watford’s Welsh international striker Helen Ward saw all 3 points go the way of the Golden Girls, but United have grown more resilient in the intervening months and are sure to want to put that result behind them this afternoon.
Kick off on Sunday is at 3pm at Middlesex FA (UB5 6AU)
