Michał Helik has not been an Oxford United player for long, but the experienced Poland international is ready to hit the ground running.
Signing for the Club on Friday, the 29-year-old will go straight into Gary Rowett's plans for the home tie against Blackburn Rovers tomorrow.
A winner of the Player of the Year awards at Barnsley and Huddersfield Town, Helik is a truly exciting addition to the group.
Before Saturday's game, he sat down with OUTV for the first time to discuss his move to the Club.
He said: “I’m still improving, and the best is yet to come from me. I am joining this Club because I can see the ambition. This is the right place for me because there is a drive to improve and that matches my ambition.
“I have come here with the aim of helping to keep keeping Oxford United in the Championship. We should always aim higher, and I will do my best every day to win for the Club.
“I am experienced but also very hungry and learn and improve every day. I am ready to fight for this badge and I want to achieve our goals together.
"I want to help the team score goals and it's a great feeling for me. I will focus on the defence, but if I can score and help the team win, I will do.
"I have played with Placheta at international level, so I know how quite well. He is one who spoke really well about the Club and he convinced me to join as well."
