U's on International Duty

Oxford United have had a record seven players called up to represent their countries over this international break, including a first call up for right-back Peter Kioso, who has joined up with the Democratic Republic of Congo squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Tanzania on 11 October (5:00pm*) and 15 October (10:00pm).

Ciaran Brown could add to the 14 Northern Ireland caps (out of his 20 so far) that he has won since he's been with the U's if he is selected to play against Belarus on 12 October (8:45pm in Hungary) or Bulgaria on 15 October (7:45pm in Belfast) in the UEFA Nations League. If he plays in both games this will take him to 16 caps while with United, just two shy of the club record of 18 caps won by Jim Magilton, also for Northern Ireland.

Also in the UEFA Nations League, Mark Harris has been called up again by Craig Bellamy as Wales take on Iceland away on 11 October (6:45pm) before playing Montenegro on 14 October (7:45pm in Cardiff).

Greg Leigh has the delights of travelling with former United player Steve McLaren's Jamaica to Nicaragua on 10 October (10:00am) before the Reggae Boyz host Honduras on 14 October (1:45pm) at Independence Park in the CONCACAF Nations League, while on the same dates, Marselino Ferdinan will be with Indonesia for their AFC World Cup qualifying games against Bahrain in Manama (5:00pm) and China in Qingdao (1:00pm).

Ben Nelson and Dane Scarlett have both been called up for England U20s, who will face Italy in Frosinone on 10 October (5pm kick off) and the Czech Republic at Doncaster Rovers' Eco Power Stadium (7:00pm) in the U20 Elite League.

We wish them all the best of luck and will be following their fortunes closely.
