Sam Rose Wins FAWNL Manager of the Month

Sam Rose

Oxford United Women Head Coach, Sam Rose, has won the FAWNL Premier Division Manager of the Month award for February.

The U's boss picked up the award following an outstanding month of form, following three wins and one draw out of four in the league.

United kicked off the month of February with 2-1 victory away to Cheltenham Town, having come from behind to earn all three points.

They then earned an impressive 3-0 win at home over MK Dons, before defeating Plymouth Argyle 1-0 three days later to move third in the table.

The month ended with a 1-1 draw at Lewes having gone 1-0 up in the game, but they saw the game out to keep the undefeated run for the month.

Rose won the award having beat off competition from Jon Dawe at Plymouth Argyle, Carly Davies at Nottingham Forest, and Daniel McNamara at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Speaking after picking up the award, he said: "I’m delighted that the team’s hard work and results have been recognised in this way. These things are never just about individual recognition, as anyone at the Club will tell you, it’s a team effort. The staff work very hard to support the players and ultimately it’s the players that have to go out there and put the performances together.

"As a team we’ve still got progress to make, but it’s always a nice thing to be recognised for your hard work. Thank you to the FAWNL panel and all of the fans that voted.

It’s third time lucky for Sam having been nominated in January 2024, and October 2024. A huge congratulations goes to Sam and the team for this achievement.
