Oxford United U18s are back in action this weekend as they take on Bristol Rovers in the Youth Alliance League.
The Young U’s make the trip to Bristol this Saturday as they return to league action, having lost just one in their last seven games. Currently sitting sixth in the league, the Yellows will be looking to get a result this weekend and put pressure on those above them, especially with confidence being high after a remarkable comeback by the U17s on Tuesday in Bournemouth.
The hosts haven’t had the best set of results recently and currently find themselves in 16th place, just four points clear of the bottom. There will be a sense of disappointment in the Rovers squad coming into this one, after getting knocked out of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday by non-league side Hertford Town U18s in a game which went the full 120 minutes, conceding in injury time of extra time. With that in mind, the Pirates will be looking for a reaction on Saturday against a U’s side in good form.
The game is an important one for United, with the U’s looking to take momentum from it into the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday against Watford.
