Oxford United U18s start their FA Youth Cup campaign tomorrow as they travel to Watford for their third round tie. Both sides will be entering the tournament with this tie as all Championship and Premier League teams enter in the third round.
The U’s enter the competition in some excellent form, losing just one in their last eight, and will be high in confidence after progressing in the U17 PDL Cup after knocking out Bournemouth 5-3 last week. They have also managed to climb the league into 5th place, just five points off league leaders Gillingham.
The Yellows will look to try and replicate the wonders of the 2022/23 season, when they pulled off a remarkable run, making it all the way to the quarter finals, before getting beaten at Manchester City.
Unfortunately they didn’t have the same joy last season and were knocked out in extra time by Gillingham in the third round.
The Hornets themselves have had an impressive run recently, unbeaten in their last seven games. The Cat 2 side are third in group B of the U18 PDL League. Like the U’s, the hosts also exited the competition in the third round last season, getting beaten 2-0 by Manchester City.
Kick off is at 7.00pm at the Kings Langley Stadium and will be covered on our Academy socials.
