Preview: U18s visit Bromley

Oxford United U18s travel to Bromley on Saturday morning for the final away game of the season.

United are seeking vengeance on a Bromley side that knocked them out of the Youth Alliance Cup in the semi-finals.

Unfortunately for United, tomorrow’s game has lost much of its significance after they were defeated on Tuesday in Portsmouth, losing their hopes of the winning the league title. The U’s have finished second in the league, with two games remaining.

They will, however, want to get one over on Bromley after being knocked out by the Ravens in the cup in a controversial penalty shoot-out. Tomorrow’s game is the penultimate one for United, before hosting MK Dons next weekend to wrap up the season for the U18s.

Saturday should be a good chance to see a rotated squad, giving a few younger boys some game time in preparation for next season.

It’s a busy weekend for the academy, with the U21s in action at Kenilworth Road on Monday evening, taking on Luton Town U21s.
