PREVIEW: U18s Travel to Cheltenham

youth preview

Oxford United U18s look to continue their formidable form as they travel to Cheltenham Town this Saturday for an 11:00am kick-off.

The young U’s will be high on confidence at the moment after extending their winning streak in the league to 11 games on Saturday. United beat Swindon Town in a dominating 6-0 win.

United currently sit top of the league, just one point below Luton. However, they do have a game in hand over the Hatters.

This weekend’s opposition, Cheltenham Town, will be looking to bounce back after back-to-back defeats, including a disappointing semi-final exit of the PDL Cup, losing 6-1 to Peterborough. The Robins currently sit 14th in the league but do have a number of games in hand over the teams above them.

The sides have met in two very contrasting games this season, with the first ending 1-1 in Cheltenham. They then met again recently in a completely one-sided game as the U’s won 9-0. Leo Snowden grabbed four, Jack Lee got a brace, and there was a goal each for Louis Griffiths, Kasway Burton and Mubarak Abolade, who wrapped things up.
