PREVIEW: U18s Take On Exeter City

youth vs Northampton

Oxford United Under 18s host Exeter City on Saturday as they continue to try and hunt down Luton at the top of the table.

The young U’s are approaching the crunch part of the league now, with just six matches left of the 2024/25 league season. They are looking to extend their winning run on Saturday with a chance to make it 13 league wins on the trot. The Yellows go into Saturday four points below the Hatters who sit top of the league. Oxford, however, do have two games in hand over them, meaning that everything is in their hands now.

It's a busy week for the U’s, with a quick turnaround into the League Cup semi-final on Tuesday against Bromley. They follow that next Saturday with a crucial away trip to Gillingham, who sit fourth in the league.

Exeter City come into tomorrow's game with nothing to play for apart from pride. The Grecians are rock bottom of the league, with just two wins all season, and sit seven points behind second-bottom Newport County. Despite a season which hasn’t gone their way, they will come into Saturday with the intention of causing an upset against a confident United side.

The U’s will be looking to repeat the success of their away trip at Exeter, which kickstarted 2025 in the perfect way, winning comfortably in the end 3-1.

Kick off is at 11:30am at the Oxford United Training Ground.
