Oxford United welcome Plymouth Argyle to the Kassam Stadium on Sunday 29 December (3:00pm kick off) for another big game as the season reaches its halfway point.
With the earlier game at Home Park postponed and rescheduled for 14 January, this will be the first meeting since February 2003.
OXFORD UNITED
United beat Cardiff City 3-2 in Gary Rowett's first game in charge which lifted the U's out of the bottom three, and three points on Sunday could further extend the gap to the relegation places.
The side was boosted on Boxing Day by the return of Siriki Dembélé and Louie Sibley, who both came off the bench in the closing minutes and who may get a longer opportunity to show what they can do.
PLYMOUTH ARGYLE
The Pilgrims, under Wayne Rooney's management, were beaten 4-0 at Coventry City last time out to leave them bottom of the Championship and without a win in their last eight games. To compound their problems, they had substitute Callum Wright sent off at the CBS Arena, having replaced Mustapha Bundu, who came off injured in the first half.
Rooney could be boosted by the return from injury of Dutch under-21 international winger Ibrahim Cissoko, who hasn't featured since October after a hamstring injury, although it is unlikely that he will get many minutes from the bench if he is involved.
THOSE WE HAVE LOST IN 2024
Oxford United will pay tribute to those former players, supporters, and staff who sadly lost their lives in 2024 ahead of kick-off.
The minute’s applause before the game has become an emotional moment for everyone connected to the Club, in which we’ll feature each of the names we receive in the match programme and on the big screen at the game vs the Pilgrims.
TICKETS AND TRAVEL
Sunday's game is a SELL OUT, with no tickets remaining. Tickets may become available via the ticket exchange mechanism, but supporters are reminded that these go off sale four hours before kick off. If you do not have a valid match ticket, please do not attend.
There is a 2,000 space free car park at the stadium, although this does tend to fill up quickly so anyone intending to park at the ground is advised to get to the ground early. There are also marked bays along Grenoble Road to the east of the stadium. Please do not park illegally or on grass verges.
The Football Special buses will be running as normal for the game, although please remember that the drop-off and pick-up points at the stadium have changed. For more information read HERE.
Supporters are reminded that the gate behind the Planet IT North Stand will be closed before and after the game, so there will be no access between the car parks using that route.
