PREVIEW: Millwall vs Oxford United

Millwall Away

Oxford United start 2025 as they did 2024, with a trip to London on New Year's Day. Last season the U's beat Charlton Athletic 2-1 at the Valley, while on Wednesday the Yellows visit the Den to take on Millwall (1:00pm kick off).

The sides drew 1-1 at the Kassam Stadium in the reverse fixture just over a month ago, with Tyler Goodrham's spectacular late goal cancelling out Japhet Tanganga's first-half header.

OXFORD UNITED

Gary Rowett returns to the side where he spent four years as manager between 2019 and 2023 hoping to guide Oxford to their first away win of the season, having overseen back-to-back home wins in his first two games in charge.

The U's kept the same starting line-ups for the games against Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle, with Ciaron Brown and Przemysław Płacheta each scoring in both games.

MILLWALL

The Lions will be managed by Alex Neil for the first time, the former Stoke City manager announced as Neil Harris's replacement on 30 December.

Last time out, Millwall drew 0-0 at Coventry City on Sunday, following a 2-1 Boxing Day loss at Norwich City. They have won just one of their last nine matches, four of which have been draws.
