PREVIEW: Hull City vs Oxford United

Hull City

Oxford United visit the MKM Stadium on Wednesday to take on Hull City in another big away game (7:45pm kick off).

This is United's first visit to Hull since March 2021, when the game was played in an empty stadium due to the Covid lockdown.

When the sides met earlier this season on 5 November, a Hidde ter Avest goal earned the U's the three points in a 1-0 win.

OXFORD UNITED

Following their 1-1 draw at Norwich City on Friday, United will be going into this game full of confidence. There are no new injury concerns for the Yellows, who will be hoping to continue the momentum from that performance into this game.

HULL CITY

The Tigers, who sit one place and two points below United, have been struggling at home, with their 2-0 win over Plymouth Argyle last Tuesday their first home win since before Christmas, although they are unbeaten in their last five games. Last time out, they drew 1-1 at Bristol City, despite being reduced to 10 men after just 14 minutes.

Joao Pedro's red card was not overturned on appeal, so City will be without the forward for the next three games. With Louie Barry returning to parent club Aston Villa after injury, it's possible that former United striker Kyle Joseph could be called up against his old club.
