Oxford United travel to Pride Park this evening looking to get back to winning ways after last Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Burnley and two draws prior to that.
Earlier this season, Oxford and Derby fought out a 1-1 draw at the Kassam Stadium. Last season, in League One, United won 2-1 at Pride Park, with Mark Harris scoring both goals for the U's.
OXFORD UNITED
United have won just once away from home in the Championship, the New Year's Day victory at Millwall. However, since Gary Rowett's arrival, their only league defeat on the road was last week's narrow reverse at Turf Moor.
With no game at the weekend, Oxford go into tonight's match with no new injury worries, giving Rowett plenty of options for team selection. Alex Matos made his first start at Burnley and will be hoping to be involved from the beginning again.
DERBY COUNTY
Currently managerless since Paul Warne's departure, coach Matt Hamshaw has taken charge of the Rams for Saturday's 1-1 draw at Norwich City, a result that halted a seven-game losing streak. It is still unclear if Hamshaw will be in place for tonight's fixture.
Talking to Derby's official web site ahead of this evening's game, Hamshaw said: "We need to play with positivity and be on the front foot. It's a massive, massive game, but we have always known the enormity of this week.
"The lads are in a good place. We've got three very close games where we may make changes. The fact that we've got everybody back up, ready and raring to go allows us to do that with more conviction than we have done in recent weeks.
"It’s a good opportunity at home again. I feel the performances have been good at home this year. We just haven't had the results and I'm excited and looking forward to getting out there at Pride Park. Hopefully, we can play as well as we did at Norwich and be a little bit more front-footed."
Centre-back Sondre Langas and midfielder Harrison Armstrong made their Rams debuts at Norwich on Saturday, while defender Nat Phillips returned to the side against the Canaries following a four-game absence.
Former Oxford centre back Curtis Nelson remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury, while Corey Blackett-Taylor, Kane Wilson and Dajaune Brown are all injured.
