Oxford United Women’s Team are delighted to announce that four players have re-signed with the club for the upcoming campaign.
Vitaliia Budaieva, Nic Gibson, Jenna Legg and Paris Sercombe have all extended their stay with the U’s for the 2024/25 season.
It comes following a busy summer with a number of new additions into the squad for Sam Rose’s side as they look to improve on last year.
Speaking of the new contracts, Sam Rose said: “We are pleased to have been able to retain both Nic and Vita for next season. Both players have progressed to become integral members of the squad since joining us.
“Nic’s experience and adaptability have been important for us and she’s a fantastic example of professionalism for the rest of the squad. With Nic, Jaime, Zoe Creaney and Cecily Wellesley-Smith we feel we have good strength and depth in that area of the pitch.
“Vita’s performances towards the end of last season showed us what she is capable of. Her energy and athleticism stand out and she will be an important member of the squad as we move forward.”
“We’re pleased that Paris Sercombe has extended her stay at the club. Her performances last season contributed to our strong runs of results, and we are looking forward to working with her again this season.’
“We’re delighted that Jen has decided to stay. With strong interest from a number of Women’s Championship teams, and the fact that Jen is more than capable of playing at that level, we are really glad to see her remain in a U’s shirt for this season.
“Along with Leah, Kate and Vita, we feel we have been able to retain players that have the potential to become the best midfield unit in the league this season.
“With the potential of bringing in one or two more new faces before the first game of the season, we are happy that we have been able to both retain and strengthen the squad over the summer.”
