Oxford United are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Matt Ingram from Hull City.
The 30-year-old arrives to bring more Championship experience to the group, having spent the last five years in the division with Hull and Luton Town.
Ingram has played 295 games in English football since making his competitive debut with Wycombe Wanderers in 2010, with 74 coming in the Championship.
Also playing at clubs such as QPR and Northampton Town, Ingram will now join the United team in training as preparations begin for the new campaign.
Speaking after signing for the club, Ingram said: “I’m delighted to be here and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.
“It’s a club on the up and I think good things are going to happen here, so when I knew about the interest I was over the moon.
“I really like the style of the player. We have a good union of goalkeepers here and hopefully, I can be one who drives the standards every day and brings experience to help us in the league.”
Des Buckingham, Head Coach, said: “Matt is a very experienced goalkeeper in the Championship and throughout the EFL.
“He will add some valuable experience while also complimenting the way we want to play. His experience and leadership qualities will add value to what is a very strong goalkeeping department led extremely well by our Goalkeeping Coach, Lewis Price.
“Matt is a great addition to our group and a wonderful character to bring in as we continue to develop our culture and environment”.
Ed Waldron, Head of Recruitment, said: “We are really pleased to bring Matt into the club and to add further experience and quality to the goalkeeping department.
“Matt has been a well-established player for a number of years across League One and the Championship and he will complement the blend of goalkeepers we currently have at the club.
“Working alongside Des Buckingham and Lewis Price we have established a very strong department of goalkeepers to cope with this Championship season and beyond.”
