There may be no Oxford United action for another week, but following a positive start to the Championship season, a number of United players will be representing their nations.
The international games start today (Thursday), with six United players in total called up for their national team, showcasing the strength of performance from their time at the club.
First up is Ciaron Brown who takes on Luxembourg at home (Thursday) and Bulgaria away (Sunday) with Northern Ireland. If he plays in one of these games he will earn his 20th cap.
Next up is Marselino Ferdinan, one of our summer signings who has been called up with Indonesia. They are in World Cup Qualifying action, taking on Saudi Arabia away (Thursday), and Australia at home (Tuesday).
Greg Leigh is playing on the same days as Marselino, as he starts life under the new management of Steve McLaren with Jamaica, taking on Cuba at home and Honduras away.
Then there is Mark Harris, recalled to the Welsh squad for the first time since signing for United. The on-form striker will be hoping for another cap as they take on Turkey at home (Friday) and Montenegro away (Monday).
In Under-20 action are both Dane Scarlett and Ben Nelson who are with England for games against Turkey and Romania.
Good luck to all the boys with their nations!
