With the Club enjoying promotion last season, we are seeing Sky Bet EFL Championship football played at the Kassam Stadium for the first time.
This success has seen an increase in supporters with all league games selling out to date this season.
This increase in numbers has meant that areas outside of the stadium such as car parks, walkways and cycle racks are, at times, at capacity.
From Saturday the club will be bringing in these additional measures to outside operation in an attempt to improve crowd safety and overall supporter experience.
• Cars in the VIP parking area will be held for 30 minutes after the final whistle to enable pedestrians to leave safely. This will be in effect from the 80th minute of the game.
• The cycle rack at the southeast corner will no longer be available to motorcyclists.
• Motorcyclists will be directed to park in the cycle rack area in the northeast corner of the stadium accessible from the east stand car park entrance.
• Where there is a full Sky production hosting large outside broadcast vehicles the Club will be operating a ‘keep left’ system at the back of the east stand to help with safe passage of pedestrians.
We kindly ask all supporters to follow the instructions of the stewards to support these changes.
The club works alongside a car park management company to ensure an effective and safe operation that reduces the impact to the wider road network. We ask all supporters to help support this operation by driving and parking responsibly and following parking stewards’ instructions.
We also ask supporters to consider using alternative transfer methods such as the football special buses, cycling or car sharing.
It’s also been noted that demand for blue badge spaces has increased. Sadly, we can only offer these on a first-come, first-served basis, therefore we encourage supporters to arrive early to avoid disappointment. Where spaces are full stewards will assist in parking in the next suitable space.
As ever we thank you for your support.
