Blue Light Day This Weekend

This weekend will be the club’s dedicated Blue Light Day when Cheltenham Town visit OX4 on Saturday 9th March, as we show our appreciation and support of our public services.

On the day, we’ll be welcoming The Army, The Royal Air Force, The Navy, Thames Valley Police, South Central Ambulance, Oxford Fire and Rescue, and Oxford University Hospitals to engage with supporters ahead of kick-off.

There will be lots of activity going on around the ground that will showcase vehicles, equipment, and personnel from various departments of public service.

PARKING AND ACCESS

The Blue Light Day activation will be taking over the immediate West End Car Park closest to the fence. With a reduced number of free car parking spaces available at the stadium, we ask supporters to consider car sharing, using public transport, or cycling to the stadium where possible.

We ask all supporters to arrive early and park legally.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Thames Valley Police will be bringing two police horses and a large Horse Box, a Marked Mini, Marked Vivaro Van, and a Marked Transit Van for supporters to check out. They will also be offering crime prevention advice, and the opportunity to look at some police equipment.

Oxford University Hospitals, based in the Exhibition Bar in the South Stand, will be providing FREE blood pressure checks to supporters, general and sexual health advice, as well as an origami workshop.

Nuffield Health, again based in the Exhibition Bar, will be offering fun and engaging health and wellness activities for supporters. There will be healthcare professionals, personal trainers, and other Nuffield staff, along with their very own Nuffy Bear to meet and greet fans.

The Army will be bringing large military vehicles, a bomb disposal truck and robot, and a range of equipment they use on deployment for you to explore from helmets to camouflage webbing.

The Navy’s Sea Cadets will be present to meet with supporters and offer the opportunity to explore some of the equipment they’ll have with them on the day.
