PREVIEW Oxford United v Portsmouth

Oxford United welcome Portsmouth to the Kassam Stadium tonight in Sky Bet League 1 (7.45pm)

The U's take on the leaders, managed by former United defender John Mousinho, looking to get back to winning ways after defeat at Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

TEAM NEWS
United name the same squad as Saturday with Des Buckingham saying

"We will have the same squad as we had on Saturday, much the same squad we have had since Christmas. Sam Long and Joe Bennett have joined Marcus Browne, Billy Bodin, Kyle Edwards, Will Goodwin and Josh Murphy; that’s a lot of attacking options unavailable but they will be back, we know that, and we have shown even without those players that we are a good team so no excuses, we just get on with things and we will be ready.

“We are more than capable of competing with any team, we are still in amongst it at the top of the table and we will get stronger as the weeks go by.

“Portsmouth will be loud but our fans have been really good, home and away. Their support will play a big part for us over the next 18 games and we have to do our utmost to give then something to cheer and get behind on Tuesday night. “

THE OPPOSITION
Mousinho has enjoyed a very successful 12 months since leaving the U’s but sentiment is far from his mind as he returns to the Kassam Stadium

“Oxford have had an interesting season with a change of manager – there have been two in charge since we went there last season. They’ve been near the top of the table for most of the campaign and have just dropped down a bit recently.

“But they’re an excellent side and have got threats right across the board, including a few that I know a lot about. They can hurt anyone on their day. It’s a fairly local one, which is nice for the fans, and we’ll be doing everything we can to give them something to celebrate."

“For me, it’s just like any other game – it probably felt like there was a bit more fanfare when I went back last season. Now it’s just business as usual.
