James Beadle has returned to his parent club Brighton and Hove Albion.
Beadle joined the club on loan during the summer. Although the deal was initially for the entire season, Brighton have exercised their option to recall him in January and the 18-year-old will return to the Seagulls with immediate effect.
Head Coach Des Buckingham said:
“James is an outstanding young talent and has done incredibly well for us during the first half of the season, which is why it’s disappointing that he’s leaving us. We’ve spoken at length, and I know he has enjoyed his time with us. I think everyone who saw him play believes he has a very bright future in the game, and I look forward to watching his progress.
“The loan market is an important part of our recruitment strategy. We were aware that this situation might happen and have planned accordingly for it.”
James added:
“I have loved my time here and want to thank the Gaffer, the players and all of the fans for making me feel so at home. I especially want to thank Lewis Price, Simon Eastwood and the other keepers who have been excellent – the team are in very good hands. Oxford United are an amazing club and I will never forget this experience.”
We thank James for his efforts during his time with the U’s and wish him well for the rest of the season.
