Oxford United welcome Reading on Saturday for the first ever league game between the two teams at the Kassam Stadium.
A huge crowd will be there for this much anticipated fixture and we ask all supporters to help us make the day as enjoyable as possible for everyone in attendance.
A local derby always involves drama and passion but also means an increased police and stewarding presence. Thames Valley Police has issued a statement regarding policing for this game (available here) and the stadium will have additional security measures in place.
The gate behind the North Stand will be closed so supporters cannot move from one end of the ground to the other behind that stand.
Visiting fans should park in the West/overflow car parks. Please note that no alcohol will be available in the away end.
Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Whichever team you are there to support, please do it the right way.
Dangerous and illegal behaviour has no place in our game and Oxford United, Reading and the EFL have introduced tougher measures this season addressing fan behaviour at matches.
Criminal behaviour includes:
- Entering the field of play without permission
- Use of smoke bombs and pyro
- Throwing objects
- Drug use
- Discriminatory behaviour
- Football tragedy abuse
Potential consequences include:
- Automatic club ban
- Reported to the police
- Criminal record
- Stadium ban and criminal prosecution
- Education and employment at risk
- Serious injury
Help us ensure that Saturday’s match is safe and enjoyable for all.
