Mark Harris’s excellent goalscoring run continued with a 13th goal of the season at Blackpool on Saturday. The Welsh international striker has now scored seven goals in 2024 and he was typically honest in his assessment of the game at Bloomfield Road
“I think a draw was probably fair” he said. “We had chances to win it but they had one or two as well - Jamie pulled off an unbelievable save. I had a chance which their lad cleared with his face and we had Billy’s one at the end too so there were chances for both teams and it probably ended up a fair result.
“A point away is always good away from home but we have had a few draws in a row now. They are not losses but we wanted to come here today and put a marker down and get the result. Hopefully we can do that now in the next few games; turn those draws into wins and get the three points so we can get to where we want to be.
“As you saw today we used our subs and they boys came on and did well so it’s about them pushing and the boys in the team having to play well to keep their place, plus the players not even here today coming into contention as well. We are all pushing each other on and the fans drive us on as well.
“That was another long trip for them but they were brilliant and we can’t thank them enough”.
Get behind Mark and the team when we welcome Wigan to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday evening (7.45pm)
