VACANCY Social Media Manager

Oxford United are seeking a Social Media Manager to create and develop content that will engage our audiences and grow our brand. You will understand how to use content to tell stories and bring our teams, players, purpose, and brand to life.

Location: Oxford United Training Ground/The Kassam Stadium

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Full Time (including weekends and match days)

Role Description:

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing best in class digital and social media content across every one of Oxford United’s digital touch points. You will demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and have experience and an interest in data analysis.

The objective of the role is to drive channel and community growth, increase engagement, maximise visibility of our brand and acquire new audiences for all of Oxford United’s teams. Reporting to the CCMO, you will have responsibility for, and be involved in, delivering social media content and marketing campaigns that align with the goals of the business.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Manage all club social media platforms/channels (strategy, content planning, content curation and reporting) in line with the overall business objectives

• Work with agencies and content producers to build creative concepts for both day-to-day posting and large campaigns

• Work with the Commercial Team to deliver campaigns for club commercial partners

• With the marketing team implement marketing campaigns across digital platforms

• Plan and execute monthly social calendars

• Manage delivery of matchday content across club channels

• Track social performance metrics and data to identify actionable insights & best practice

• Monitor social trends, sentiment, new platforms and new features to leverage opportunities for growth and engagement

• Engage and grow our online communities through best-practice community management

• Ensure clear and consistent voice and tonality of the brand across social media

• Deliver content across sport, education and community to challenge discrimination, encourage inclusive practices and campaign for positive change

• An ability to perform video edits and create content

• Competent in use of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects

Required Skills & Experience:

• Positive and creative thinker, curious, adaptable and a problem solver

• You have worked on developing and delivering social media strategies and compelling social campaigns across multiple channels

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a high level of attention to detail

• You have 3+ years of experience in a similar role

• You are able to plan content, as well as respond quickly to content opportunities

• You know how to identify and apply insights to create more relevant fan content and experiences

• An understanding of the paid social media landscape

• You can adopt the Oxford United tone of voice and style

• You are up to date on content trends and best practices
