Oxford United U18s beat MK Dons 2-0 away from home in the U18 Professional Development League Cup over the weekend.
Centre back Aaron Lacey opened the scoring for the young U's with a header from a corner.
Tobias Brenan then ensured that they'd progress to the next round, scoring on the counter attack towards the end of the game.
Coach Chris Hackett told us
"It's been a tough two weeks for the boys before this, so we were looking for a reaction from them and they certainly gave that.
"Aaron offers a big threat from set pieces and we saw that today, and Tobias is always near the top of the running stats so it's no surprise he can drive us forward on the counter.
"Overall it was a solid team performance and a clean sheet which will be great for confidence all round. We need to take the result and the performance into next weekend's Cup tie against Exeter".
