Oxford United will again mix youth and experience when they welcome MK Dons to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night in the EFL Trophy (7pm)
The U’s were 3-1 winners at Northampton in the opening game of the group with several senior players staking their claims for more regular places in Liam Manning’s starting eleven.
“I really enjoyed the Northampton game” Assistant Manager Chris Hogg told iFollow. “The attitude and intensity was bang on the money.
“The quality was excellent and those involved enjoyed playing as well. For us it’s a great thing to see boys playing with a smile on their face. Tomorrow will be no different and we will be looking for the same positive performance and hopefully another win.
“We will put the squad together and see what it looks like but we are looking to build a squad with depth in every position. The team will be competitive because we want to win the game but we will try to give people opportunities wherever we can.”
United have both Mark Harris and Greg Leigh available - Leigh has served a one game suspension while Harris’s red card in the league does not lead to a ban in the Trophy,
However they will be without young defender George Franklin who damaged an ACL on his debut at Northampton in the same competition and faces several months on the sidelines.
We’ll have a full preview right here on Tuesday morning and remember that prices have been reduced in all areas for this game.
