Oxford United Women take on Woodley United Ladies away from home in the First Round of the Women’s FA Cup on Sunday 12th of November.
Sam Rose will take charge of his first game as Manager, kicking off at 2PM at Bulmershe Pavillion, RG5 3HE.
Woodley United have chosen not to charge for entry, and so the game will be free for everyone. However, the home side will be collecting for their local food bank on the day and we ask any fans who are able to, to contribute on Sunday.
Hot drinks will be available to purchase but only by cash or bank transfer. No card payments.
Woodley United, who play in the Fifth Tier of Women’s football, enter the First Round of the historic competition for the first time in their club’s history.
The U’s haven’t played a competitive fixture for a month, the last time they played on the 12th October they emerged as 1-0 winners away at Cheltenham Town.
Sam Rose told OUFC.co.uk
“We’re against a lower tier side but we need to make sure we approach it in the right manner because obviously the prize money for the club is an important income and it certainly won't be a game that I'll be looking to brush under the carpet.
“It’ll be a good opportunity for me to see what the group looks like and potentially some younger players coming into the group, but we’ll make those decisions later in the week.
“We'll be taking it seriously and hopefully we can take the step towards putting a cup run together and that will hopefully give us some momentum to build on this season in the league and the cup.
